OVERVIEW

ALPINE

Established in 1903.  Alpine is home to less than 2,000 residents, yet Alpine is one of the most affluent towns of Bergen County and New Jersey, with most recent home sale prices reaching $11 Million.  Recently making Forbes’ list of most expansive zip codes in the USA, Alpine is also known for low taxes and sometimes called a Millionaire’s Borough.  Its proximity to New York City through 9W, as well as large properties and lots of privacy it offers, makes Alpine a very desirable destination to celebrities and leaders of industry. It also has easy access to the Palisades Interstate Parkway for a quick ride to New York and Connecticut, and Palisades Interstate Park, perfect for a hike or family picnic along the Hudson River, enjoying views of the George Washington Bridge and New York. Alpine doesn’t have a real “downtown” area, but there are plenty of options in neighboring towns.  You can enjoy the newly rebuilt Closter Plaza, just down the hill with shops, restaurants and gyms.  Alpine doesn’t have mail delivery, all residents go to the post office, where they pick up their mail from their mailboxes.  Famous landmarks of Alpine include the Memorial Rock on Memorial Drive, The Alpine Community Church, The Alpine Community House, The Kearny House, Devil’s Tower and Alpine Boat Basin – another perfect location for community and family days, barbeques and boat lunch along the Hudson River.  Alpine has also been home to many celebrites such as: Chris Rock, P. Diddy, Queen Latifah and many more.
