PARAMUS Established in 1922. A consumer’s dream, Paramus is one of the largest shopping destinations in the United States with three large malls and a number of smaller strip malls lining the highways of Route 17 and Route 4. The borough is not at all noisy and busy, despite of all – Paramus has many quiet residential neighborhoods and is home to Bergen County Zoological Park for animal lovers and a long stretch of Saddle River County Park for naturalists. The borough is also well know for its fourth of July celebration and lower than average taxes. Shopping malls are closed Sunday, but there is plenty to do for a busy family. Well-known landmarks include Van Saun County Park, Albert J. Zabriskie Farmhouse, Easton Tower, Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall, Fritz Behnke Historical Museum and Terhune House.
